Mama always said drink OJ when you get sick because Vitamin C is the best for fighting off colds. Oranges are not the only foods that contain rich amounts of Vitamin C! There are tons of fruits and veggies out there that are great for you, and a smoothie is one of my favorite ways to get my fruit and vegetable servings. Your standard glass of orange juice gets a health boost with carrots, ginger, turmeric, and bananas.

The banana is added for creaminess; however, if you prefer smoothies without bananas, try substituting with 1 cup of ice and a half cup yogurt for creaminess.
If you like a punch-in-you-face ginger taste, this smoothie is for you my friend. This smoothie recipe calls for one and a half teaspoons of ginger which packs a punch. If you are not a big fan of ginger, I recommended taking the measurements down to one teaspoon or even one-half teaspoon.

Immune Boosting Orange Smoothie
This orange smoothie is packed with immune boosting ingredients. Ginger, carrots, and turmeric make this smoothie a cold and flu-fighting beverage!
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 banana
- 1 1/2 teaspoon ginger minced
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup carrots shredded
Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth
Pour into glass and enjoy immediately
Substitute banana with 1 cup ice and half cup yogurt if preferred.
