How to Make the Best Vegan Pumpkin Spice Latte

This recipe is ridiculously easy to make on the stovetop in under 10 minutes – including prep time!

First, go ahead and brew your coffee while you gather up the rest of the ingredients. When you’re ready to get frothing, simply:

  1. Add all of the ingredients, except for the coffee, to a small pot over medium heat.
  2. Continue to whisk vigorously until the beverage becomes foamy and hot. But be careful to not boil or burn the mixture!
  3. Now add the brewed coffee to two mugs, filling each halfway. Pour in the frothed milk on top – don’t stir! – and enjoy hot.

You can also make this vegan pumpkin spice latte using a standing or wand milk frother!

For the this method just add all ingredients – except for the coffee – to the standing frother or your usual metal frothing vessel. If you have a small frother you will need to work in two batches.

Froth the oat beverage to a thick, slightly fluffy consistency.

Next, fill two coffee mugs halfway with the strong coffee and pour in the frothed milk.

PSL Recipe Variations and Tips

  • I suggest oat milk for this vegan pumpkin spice latte. It has a great consistency and rich flavor that works really well to create that signature latte creaminess. But feel free to use other plant-based milk alternatives you like! Almond, soy, and cashew all are nice – just note that your drink likely won’t be quite as frothy or creamy. The taste will be a bit different, too.
  • Add extra flavor to the drink by using different extracts like hazelnut, salted caramel, or maple. Or add pumpkin spice extract if you seriously can’t get enough pumpkin spice in your life!
  • Trying to cut back on caffeine? You can totally make this recipe with decaf coffee!
  • To garnish the latte and give it that authentic coffeehouse feel sprinkle on an extra dash of pumpkin pie spice.
  • Make this an iced vegan pumpkin spice latte recipe! Store the frothed mixture in the fridge, give it a stir and pour over ice when ready to enjoy.
  • As-is this recipe makes two 16+ oz servings. Feel free to halve or double the ingredients for however many servings you want.
